Google Classroom Tips
TIP #1 NUMBER YOUR POSTS
Be organized with your posts. Students will find what you share with them easier, and it will save them and you lots of time. Also you can cite the post number in various messages, or presentations for your students.
TIP #2 MIND HOW YOU POST STUDENT ASSIGNMENTS
It is important to pay attention before you create posts and post work for your students. However, if you make a mistake, just delete your post, and try again.

This is useful if you want students to use files you give them. For example, you can:

1. Create an assignment, and have your students choose the kind of file they want to turn in.
2. Create an assignment and instruct all your students to edit the same file. This is great for brainstorming/collaboration activities.
3. Create an assignment and give each student a copy of the file. This is useful if you want each student to work on their own file.

TIP #3 Set some basic rules
If you do not want your students posting whatever they want in your Google Classroom stream, we recommend you agree on some basic rules. For example, students should learn to turn in assignments in the correct post, not just anywhere. Public comments must be justified and they should be for everyone.
TIP #4 Convert your office files to google
Life will be easier for you if you attach to your assignments or announcement as Google Files. If you want to share a presentation, it is better to share a Google Slides file than a Power Point file. So you do not fill your Google Drive with many versions of one file, every time a student opens it.

There are exceptions to this of course, like if you want your students to use PDFs, or Keynote files, ebooks, and other stuff.
TIP #5 give feedback and return
You can give feedback to students directly in Google Classroom, this saves lots of time. These are the feedback options:

-
Comments that only a specific student can see.
-
Comments within a Google-file a student shared with you.
-
iPad users: hand-written or typed comments made over PDF files.
Make sure you return your student's work, so they can work on your feedback.
