Digital technology does not have to be about “tools”, it is also about CONCEPTS

Use of technology is different to technology integration

You integrate when you connect the concepts you want your students to understand with the tools they are using and an understanding of how they work
​
for example
​
- More than “teaching Excel”, is the understanding of how Spreadsheets are use to organize, process, graph and interpret information.

Beyond “doing a video” with iMovie or MovieMaker is the understanding of what it takes to create a meaningful message using the language of audio and video.
How to plan ICT integration with CBL in mind?
1. Lesson/Unit goals​​​
2. Which are the key concepts students should understand?
3. Which tools (ICT) can I/my students use to understand those concepts?
4. What will students create with those tools?
5. Which skills do they need to learn? use the ICT Scope and Sequence
6. How are those digital creations going to be assessed?
7. Can student work be shared with the class or beyond?
